NOTICE – GENERAL MEETING

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic the

GENERAL MEETING of Local 181 scheduled for September 7, 2021 is virtual or call in only at 5:00 pm

 *** IF THE GUIDELINES FOR IN- PERSON, INSIDE EVENTS ALLOW FOR FULL MEMBERSHIP PARTICIPATION, THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE BRANTFORD DISTRIC LABOUR CENTRE LOCATED AT 1100 CLARENCE STREET SOUTH – UPSTAIRS CLASSROOM.  THIS DECISION WILL BE MADE  AND COMMUNICATED TO MEMBERS BY SEPTEMBER 3, 2021.***

All executive positions are open for nominations at the September 7, 2021 General Meeting.  This includes

President

Vice President

Secretary Treasurer

Recording Secretary

Chief Steward

Membership Officer

Public Relations Officer

All position descriptions are located on our website at www.181.cupe.ca

The above positions are open to any member in good standing within the local and may be nominated by any member of the local.

The following UNIT CHAIR  positions are also open for nominations at the September 7, 2021 General Meeting.

Brantford Public Library – Part Time Unit

City of Brantford – Caretakers Unit

City of Brantford – City Hall Unit

City of Brantford – Outside Workers Unit

Ontario Works Brant and Housing Unit

Brantford Power

Brant Family and Children’s Services – Main Unit

Brant Family and Children’s Services – Native Services Unit

Participation Support Services Unit

VON Unit

Community Living Brant Unit

The position of Unit Chair – for each unit – must be a member in good standing in that respective unit and be nominated and seconded by TWO members of that respective  unit. 

Nominations will be accepted during the meeting or by email until 5:00 September 7, 2021 at secretarylocal181@gmail.com

Nominations for all Elective Officers shall be received at the Regular General Membership meeting in September.  A member shall be allowed to have their name filed at such meeting if they intend to stand for any office, in writing and duly witnessed by another member.  Members must state their intent to stand for office at the Nomination meeting.  Any member with objections concerning a Nominee must state said objections at the time the Nominee confirms their intent to stand for election.  In the event more than one person is nominated for a position, elections will take place at the October General Meeting.
